Would Alan Shearer won more with Man United?

Firstly, let me pen down that I respect Shearer that he chose to be with the club he loved, Newcastle United.

However, I think he failed as professional footballer, cause he plays to win, and with his record, at MUFC or LFC or AFC, he would have been a fanastic winner.

He is retiring the game with only one league title with Blackburn.

Question is: should he have joined MUFC or his favourite club, Newcastle?

you can win a couple of EPL titles like Chavski has done but they've won nothing else other than contempt...

Shearer has won one medal with Blackburn... but his heart is with the Geordies.... even if he hasn't won anything else, i think he would be happier than winning a whole lot with MUFC...

some people measure success with a different yardstick...

to a lot, Chavski has much "success"... whereas i see them as an abject failure...

i'm putting out a point of reference... as a SPORTSMAN, i'd be ashamed to be with a team like Chavski...

(please look up the word "Sportsmanship" )

shearer went with his heart and heck! he did so when MUFC was up there along with NUFC and offered as much...

he has also shown that he is happy where he is.. like a few players who go with their hearts, they are revered by the fans up there in the nosebleed zones..

why do you think people like Cantona and Fowler are well-loved?

Shearer will go down in history standing shoulder to shoulder with legends like that..

now, think for a moment and tell me which team epitomises the mercenary and everything horrid and wrong about football today and i'll use that team as a point of reference...

because, i can't think of a team worse than Chavski...

a football team is not just about a single person.

A striker that is good in one team may not be good in another,so what if shearer did good in blackburn and then newcastle?It does not means that he will be good in Manu.Or for that matter if he really went to Manu,would have actually caused Manu to not win some matches.

It is easy to say when Manu have won lots of trophies in the past decade and thinking if shearer was there,shearer would also have alot of trophies.But who is to say that if he was really there,Manu would actually not be that good and thus win nothing much?

i would like to think that john terry is what alan shearer is to newcastle..

football is mercenary in a way that only the winners are winners..that is the harsh truth..

while shearer might be a winner to the newcastle faithfuls,many regard him as a wasted talent..some say the best centre forward of his time..

becuz success on the pitch no matter what always is linked with medals..

just like the current english team whom many has said to be the best team since 1966..however good football they play but if they dun win the cup or at least reach the semi's many will deem it as a failure..

maradona one of the greatest player of all times used his hands to win the world cup for argentina..

The ideal path for him would be to join man utd in his prime, then make a move to newcastle. In that way, he would win trophies and have a chance to play for his boyhood club.

No matter what, he's still a legend though esp to Newcastle fans.

Shearer does not play the Man Utd way, which explains why he never considered Man Utd and Man Utd never considered him. Being a typical target man, he is a cool finisher and good at set-pieces.

But he can't dribble for nuts and isn't known for inventive one-twos.

He has scred some very very nice goals and the hole of tyneside roars everytime he scores a goal. Thats something you can never put a price on. I'm sure he would have loved to win a trophy with NU but the recent state of managers really pulled NU down to the bottom ranks.

Well... at that time... EPL players are not playing those dribbling style like today. Fancy football only comes in the late 90s. EPL was Team Play instead... so if you have andy cole and alan shearer, who would you choose ?

Nevertheless, he had already choose his path as a professional... just hopes that he could win throphies with his managerial status in the future.
