LONDON - FOOTBALL Internet bulletin boards in England have been
abuzz over the weekend as fans try to discover the identities of
two Premiership footballers who had allegedly been caught on film
having a homosexual encounter.
Last week, the News of the World revealed how two stars were
pictured using a mobile phone as a sex toy.
Player A was described as a household
name and an England international with a reputation as a rebel on
and off the pitch.
Player B was said to be a multi-million-pound, goal-scoring
midfielder.
In the photos, columnist Rav Singh described pictures showing one
player performing oral sex on the other.
The player was then seen shoving a mobile phone down his boxer
shorts as the other player dials the number so the phone
vibrates.
A third man who, according to the report, works in the music
industry, was pictured caressing and kissing the players.
A source was quoted by the News of the World as saying: 'Fans would
be stunned if they knew who the players were.
'Both have had girlfriends and one is still in a relationship. If
anything, they are known as ladies' men, lads who like chasing
skirts at nightclubs.
'They're always in the papers with some glamorous girl or another.
Never in a million years would you think they'd be involved in
anything like this.
'They all stripped down to their vests and boxers - not exactly the
sort of gear you'd just sit around in for a chat. And then they're
in the bedroom and it all kicks off.'
In a further report yesterday, the News of the World said that 'the
Premiership idols at the centre of a gay sex scandal are part of a
gang of players who regularly take part in debauched romps'.
Former Nottingham Forest striker Justin Fashanu was Britain's first
openly gay Premiership player.
Following homophobic abuse from the terraces, he committed suicide
in 1998.
