The semen that comes together with the sperm has a lot of substance called PROSTAGLANDINS.

This substance acts as a stimulant to contract the uterus (the uterus in the third trimester possesses a lot of receptor sites for prostaglandins) henceforth stimulating preterm pregnancy (means the baby will be born prematurely, prior to 37-40 weeks of gestation).

Like Fire Ice have mentioned, you can have sex until a certain time of pregnancy but later on, it would be much safe to use condoms or other protective gears.
