if she wears a ring on her right fourth finger, it means she's engaged/ married?

If a woman is married, she would wear a ring on the ring finger of her left hand. Yes, having attended a few solemnisation ceremonies, I'm sure it is on the left hand. However, due to a common misconception arising from the Chinese saying "man left; woman right", maybe there could be a few single women out there wearing the ring on the left finger, and scaring away potential suitors. As for the right hand, there could be different meanings (engagement, fashion, remarriage, fat left finger, etc). To know the exact reason, you'd have to ask the lady in question herself.

Nowadays rings are not a reliable indicator of their marital status.. I know of women who wear rings even though they’re not attached. Some who are attached wear their ring on the left ring finger, whilst some who are married wear theirs on the right ring finger.

Exceptions do exist. Was casually talking with a colleague about her husband when noticed her wedding ring was worn on the right hand. Asked her why didn't she wear it on the left hand. The reply she gave:

"Har? Aiya, confuse people mah! Can enjoy being chased again what..." *giggle*
