Any1 here went for the exhibition match at Kallang stadium when that newcastle team came over to singapore some 7-8 yrs ago?

It was a real treat for football fans. I still remembered the scoreline is 5-0 to Newcastle, against a S-league selection side. It was a star studded side, Ginola was the star of the night. Shearer just completed his 15million pound move and flew right over to singapore to say hello to the fans at kallang, but didnt play on that night. Mr. Green

And newcastle whacked man utd 4-0 right? Laughing

Hi I went on that day, dame nice game , though its a walkover for newcastle. I rem Fandi was with Shearer on the jeep that goes rd the stadium right?

My FAV 11 ARE

GK: GIVEN
DF: S.WATSON, Albert, Woodgate, Bernard
MF: GINOLA, HAMMAN, DYER, SOLANO
STRIKER: FERDINAND, SHEARER

To think that Newcastle bought alot of players which dun perform in Newcastle but once left Newcastle became dame good. Some are top players previously but end up in shit standards in Newcastle. Below are some examples:

1) Tomasson
2) Louis Saha
3) Stephane Guivarch
4) Lee Bowyer
5) Kluivert
6) James Milner
7) Marcelino

[email protected]_Devils.com SG

Pls take no.4 and 6 off the list.
Bowyer is beginning to show his class that he has shown at Leeds. Milner is still young and has plenty of potential to improve on. He is just being loaned to another club.

No.3 Stephane Guivarch is a classic example. Went there as French league top scorer for Auxerre, 2 seasons running if i remember correctly. I think he scored less than 5 goals during that season for newcastle. Most classic is during world cup 98 when he was first choice forward for france.. France won the tournament and he didnt score a single goal. Even Lauren Blanc and Lilian thuram scored! Mr. Green

alan- SG

and there is a croatian silvio manic (something like that).. and hugo viana. so much are said abt them but little is delivered.

iveco SG

You mean Silvio Maric? Didn't even know he joined the Magpies. And to call myself a fan indeed. Embarassed

alan- SG

i merely spelt the name wrongly. not that i dont know his existence.

ruudboy SG

Haha yup I rem the croatian and I rem at one point Newcastle became old castle right signing the likes of Rush, Barnes, Pearce

stellazio SG

Viana is really a waste, touted as the next figo but perform anything but figo.. Laughing
