Weird In-Line gear and some questions

Today my friend went to Cash converter and bought a pair of in-line skate which looks almost brand new coz most of us skates around as transport.

he tried the skates in the shop and it looks and wear great.

we accompanied him home and soon after he changed into his blades, the wheels kind of "melted" and cracked. We went back to the shop but nothing could be done so he figured he will change the wheels..

The question is that any 1 of u got any idea why the Wheels will "melt" and crack???? it even leave track marks. he tried at cash converter and it is fine.

Figured that may not be his weight coz he is quite skinny so may be heat, but in-line is a outdoor sports and it shld be able to take heat!!!

Another question is any 1 of u know of any place which can change wheels around amk area?????

You can change the wheels yourself by using an allen key ( click here if you don't know what that is) to loosen the bolts on the wheels. Go to any skate shop to get wheels. But try this anyway.

As for why the wheels will crack...well I don't know about the melting part but some older inlines come with wheels which are not a whole solid piece. As in the wheel has two layers. The outer layer may tend to crack if its too old.

If the wheel is a solid one and it has cracked, then it could be that its really really old and that it had been under a lot of stress. Either that, or it just sucks.
