PoRen SG A question here: For non-competitive runners, is there a certificate and medal awarded to the runner?
redheaded SG september 11th there will be army half marathon 21km…full marathon 42km will be on december…only competitive finishers will receive a finisher medal n a cert
kops21 SG A certificate/medal is always awarded for runners that complete the run by default within official cutoff time in Singapore context. This is true for long distance event. Anything 10km or below, no medals except for the top few. There is a thin line between competitive and non-competitive. After taking part in public runs, i dont see the point in taking part in non-competitive category. Even though your aim is to take a slow jog and enjoy the atmosphere. On another note, 21km or above distance, there are no non-competitive event.
dl2734 SG Everyone get a medal!! as long as you finish the Full Marathon or even 10K or 21km. The road closure will be for 6 hours only.
CSpencer SG I really want to do a marathon this year, But I havent even try a half marathon. How? Anyone going for the RealRun ?
kops21 SG i have signed up for Real Run.... ..... you start running a marathon weeks/months before the starting line of the marathon. It is hard work, week in week out long before the love one have woken up or when they are enjoy watching tv at home, you will be out there(somewhere) doing something that some folks deem crazy..... what is ur longest run currently? what is ur weekly mileage? more information can be found at Lao Di Fang
kops21 SG no sign up, most probably you are not allowed to run. The organiser might pull/drag u off the track due to security reason.
CSpencer SG the longest run in my life is 10km weekly mileage...20km? more or less.... erm...ride bicycle for like 2hours per week kind of sad..
kops21 SG if you are willing to put in some effort, going for 21km or even 42km is not a problem....just need to built up slowly....
