Well I have a few possible reasons why:-
1. he is a gay
2. you turn him off
3. he love you so much that he respect the relationship between you
and him
however, no matter how many people have answer your question you
wont know until you have ask him. 
Pick up your gut, go to him and ask him did he find you attractive
and start from there.
