Which is more intimate to do with a person of the opposite sex who is not your significant other (whether of not to-be or not-to-be):
1) Hold hands
2) Arm around the shoulder

I personally think holding hands is more intimate. It's something only a couple should and will do. No. 2 seems more common now between friends.
(Which is probably why I find it funny when Sylvester said that he and Maia hold hands 'cos they're friends..?!?!?! I don't believe.)

Depends how they look at each other when they hold hand or when putting arm around the shoulder. But as a general rule, i wud deem both actions equally intimate. Them guilty unless proven innocent.
