Dear all forumites,
I would like to appeal for eye-witnesses for a hit-and-run traffic
accident involving my grandfather, Thong Youn San, 73 years old. He
was riding his motorcycle along CTE, towards the direction of Ang
Mo Kio on Sunday (19/09/04) morning at around 5.10am. He was hit
near the Moulmein exit, the stretch of the expressway should be
near Jalan Bahagia. He was travelling on the extreme left lane when
he was hit from the back by a speeding car, suspected to be driven
by a drunk driver. My grandfather was thrown from his bike and
rolled several metres on the tarmac. He is currently in a serious
condition at Tan Tock Seng hospital with many broken bones and
bruises on his face. The driver who hit him did not even stop to
see, but just sped away. Luckily for other road users who called
the ambulance and police, is he able to make it to the hospital.
However, my grandfather did not manage to see anything as he was
knocked unconscious immediately, but has since regained
consciousness.
I would like to appeal to you if you had seen the accident or know
of anyone who was involved in any accidents this Sunday morning at
around 5.10am. It would be better if the person involved confesses
now rather than have the police round him up, it would be a double
charge as hit-and-run accidents are equittable to homicide. This
case has been referred to the police and they are in the process of
investigating.
Please contact me at 97950902 if you have any leads. Please, do not
drink and drive or speed. It's nothing to you when it doesn't
happen to you or your family.
Thank you for your time.
