This happened some time back during my BMT at Pulau Tekong.
This coincidently (or not?) happened during the period of Ching
Ming (a lot of incence was burned on the island during this
period). My bunk was directly opposite the back of the canteen.
There was a big Chinese altar there, presumably used by the canteen
vendors on the island.
It was one of those weary nights after our training. We were all
lying in our bed as it was already time for lights off. As i was
trying to fall asleep, I noticed a dark shadow by the window of my
bunk. All the lights have already been switched off, so I could not
really see whether it was actually just one of my instructors
checking on us. However, I found it strange that the shadow was
there for quite some time before it just disappeared. I also did
not hear any of my instructors' usual footsteps. I did not want to
think too much, so I just ignored it and soon fell asleep.

Continuation...
That night I had the eeriest and weirdest nightmare (or encounter?)
of my entire life. I had fallen asleep after the 'shadow' incident
but somehow felt the strange presence of a white, lady figure
looking into my bunk from the very same window. What spooked me was
the fact that my body suddenly felt so heavy and numbed. However, I
managed to somehow turned my body away from the window. I dare not
face the figure! But I could sense that this 'figure' was drawing
nearer and nearer to me!
Suddenly, I sensed as if something heavy had landed on the blind
side of my bed as I can clearly feel that my bed had sunk deeper on
my blind side. Deep inside me knows that this was actually that
'figure'! My body just froze as I felt that this figure was somehow
drawing nearer to my neck! By then, I could feel that it was
sucking away at my neck!
My mind and body were numbed and I could only manage to say
whatever prayers that I could still remember. After awhile, my bed
felt 'lighter' as i realised/concluded that the 'figure' must have
gone away.
I soon fell back to sleep.
Continuation...
The next morning, I asked my bunkmates whether they saw anything
strange the previous night but none of them had.
I suddenly rememberred about the 'bite' and immediately checked my
neck. I asked my bunkmate to see if there was anything at my neck.
Guess, what he said?
There was a bite mark at my neck! Two small, dots! I was quite
shocked but acted coolly so as not to frighten my bunkmates.
So, was it just a nightmare? Or was it an encounter of the third
kind? Or is this just another 'incredible tale'?
Up to this very day, I still could not figure out whether it was
just a nightmare. I guess some things are best left to be
unknown.
