free thinker is one who don believe in any religion... it means they are open-minded...

Having a religion doesn't mean the believer is not open-minded. A free thinker can be considered being NOT open-minded, too.

If you consider someone who does not believe in all religions or other religions as someone not open-minded, then isn't a free thinker being NOT open-minded?

However, if a particular believer of a religion is alright to listen, read up and find out about other religions, but he does not follow or practise them, shouldn't he be considered as being open-minded?

As mentioned, now further add on, a free thinker's belief could be a religion too. Although he does not believe in any founded religions, his has his own set of beliefs right?

How can you be considered a free thinker, when you are already not accepting other people, who practise a different set of beliefs from you? Worse, you are imposing your beliefs on others!

Sometimes I hear people saying what a nuisance can some christians be when they try to evangelise by forcing down the religion on them. Well, non-christians aren't better when they try to dissuades other from practicing their religion! Doesn't it have to work both ways?

Not me.I'm absolutely disguested by their totally moron way of spreading the religion.There's one time where one sits down and starts talking all bout Christians,while I start on my fav chicken rice.I wasn't showing any interest and just concentrated on my rice.After I finished he was still on it.From that moment onwards,I made up my mind NEVER to follow.HOW CAN ANYONE BE SO SILLY??? Evil or Very Mad But as much as I hate it,I never tell others not to follow.

S'porean should be even the more support S'porean but not blindly.

I think u r misleaded... Don't let the word Free thinker be taken literally. Free thinker doesn't mean he go for free give aways nor does they believe everybody has have liberty, nor they r more liberal in thinking etc. Free Thinker just means he doesn't believe in any religion. If u want it to be politically correct, then lets just say we have no religion.

Wat is a religion ? Religion should be the intense belief of some supernatural beings tat really existed and some supernatural incidents tat had really occured in the past.

Free thinker is not a religion. How can one say if one don't believe in any religion, tat can be counted as a religion (sounds funny ). He does has his own set of belief, but could not be counted as a religion right Confused All scientist believe in science, r they practising the religion called science ?

I did always try to persuade people to drop their religion :p I am guilty of tat truly... but it is just tat I can't help thinking why r people so foolish into doing things, believing in things tat doesn't sounds logically correct ? Can one be really sure tat there wasn't any illogical things in the bible or some holy text ?

Lets treat it tis way. There r a lot of supernatural being we don't believe in. Example Santa Claus, Indian Gods, Chinese Gods etc. The difference between Free thinker and Christian, Catholic watever, is just tat Free thinker believe in one less God than them. And tat God is the God tat Christainity describe in Very Happy

Wat is a religion ?

Religion should be the intense belief tat some supernatural beings really existed and some supernatural incidents had really occured in the past. However no facts, evidence and nobody can proof such occurances.

The reason why they believe is just blind faith. (own opinion for tis line)

i seriously disagree with you... i will never force her to drop the religion... wat do u mean when the feeling die down? u treat all relationship as a joke? sorry... not the case for me... if she want to continue her faith... i won stop her... if at the end we still happily together... looking back i can say that we been through alot... every obstacle we cross together onli firmly strengthens our love for each other... stupidissmart... i suggest u stop discouraging ppl to drop their religion... u will get ur just desserts...

When I say about feeling down, I mean lets say u 2 get married and etc etc lah. The heated passion towards each other will go down as the years go on. Prickly issues like religion will pop up more and more frequently, and there will be quarrels about it. R u sure u 2 can compromise everything to a stand tat both of u r agreeable to ?

I am just trying to be realistic bah. I don't believe in just deserts. I believe in just dessert like ice cream etc.

I guess why ppl dun like her its because she is crossing the boundaries from a religious person, to trying to be a star in her own rights. The understanding of religion and media must not mix is very much set into our asian mindset. If you want to be a star you cannot attain to be religious. Unfortunately, she is trying to break that asian mindset. She made a few mistakes while trying to win over the crowd.

Firstly, she tries to be young and trendy. She wants to be seen as a person who is in with the times. She dressed herself in clothes not fitting her age, not to mention her trying not to act her age. It really puts the general public off. Maturity is something she should portray as a good example.

Quite a few ppl people knew that she had a few miscarriages from overworking herself. Sympathy votes from her church is high because of that the members feel that she is a committed pastor and gone beyond the call of duty. But of course those young members don't have the maturity to think clearly. They only know that their parents failed them and someone who is willing to sacrifice for them is good enough. So they support her in whatever she does. God on the otherhand do not expect us to make such a sacrifice because the sacrifice is already made by Jesus for all mankind. This kind of believe system is very occultic in practice which unfortunately crept into the church system. It emotionally charged ppl who are sold into this manner of thinking. These category of ppl are usally from broken homes or latchkey children.

Thirdly, ppl cannot stand her making use of her influence in church to sell her cds. Already they didn't dare reveal how much they'r paid by the church when interviewed by Newpaper let alone the actual earning from the profits they stand to gain from selling her cd.

My conclusion is that they should've raised someone young from the congregation to advance his or her music career instead of herself. That'll even make her a greater leader isn't it? Hope that more youg ppl start to save for their future rather than supporting a person whom they don't really know.

that time my fren was in one of the Cds shop, she saw this grp of pple all buying her third album, then i think they are from the same church my fren heard them saying, oh ya still must buy for who and who... and at one go take a pile of CDs about 10 of them and pay up..
My friend is in City Harvest and she was kinda forced to buy her albums.. so u know why her albums are so selling?

ppl from diff religion also live happily after they married wat.. both my parents are of diff religion... similarly... both her parents also have diff religion...

i know of a very devoted christian, who has dedicated his life to christianity. He believes very much that whatever he has now he is thankful to God for it. I respect him very much for that.

BUT HE ALSO SAID THAT BEING A CHRISTIAN ISN'T ABOUT GOING TO CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY, OR WHICH CHURCH YOU GO.

its about your relationship with God, and whether you have him in your heart. Not bcos you wear it on your face and going around telling ppl you are a christian and go to so-and-so church.

I'm not saying everyone who goes to City Harvest are there bcos they wanna be seen as ppl with status. There are of cos ppl there who attend church bcos they want to be closer to God, and not bcos they want to be seen going to church.

and i quote my fren though i forgot his exact words, a quote from the bible...

"And many shall come before me during judgement and shout "Lord! Lord!" but i shall reply them "Who are you? I do not know you.""

...simply bcos they are only a christian by name... but not by faith.
