Is my Man United good enough to become Europe champion?

DuanChengFeng SG

I saw so many comments about Man United this season but I think maybe my Man United is worth considering for Sir Alex.

Goalkeeper - Tim Howard (Isn't a problem, had done a great job till now.)
Rightback - Hatem Trabelsi (Maybe should sign him from Ajax to replace Gary since Beckham had left.)
Leftback - Mikael Silvestre (Should stop playing centre-back & go back to the left side.)
Centreback - Jaap Stam (Forget the past & bring him back to Old Trafford since Rio is out.)
Centreback - Fabio Cannavaro (Although I'm anti-Italian but Fabio is real good! Better than Brown.)
RightMid - David Beckham (You can never find another Beckham tt can cross well n take good free kick.)
CentreMid - Claude Makelele (Definitely better than Keane.)
CentreMid - Juan Veron (Can mess up opp defend with his creative & tricky passes/through ball.)
LeftMid - Ryan Giggs (No doubt, Giggs is 1 of the best left winger in the world. Had good dribbling skill.)
Forward - Ruud Van Nistelrooy (Took his chances well when come to goal-scoring. One of the best striker.)
Forward - Louis Saha (Shown great improvement in recently years, can't leave him out of my list.)

Will this Man U be better than the current ones?

Man Utd cannot win the Champions League this season….coz there are better teams in the second round playoffs that have higher chances of winning, for example, Real Madrid….

SilverCab SG

I doubt they will win the European Cup.

It will probably be an Italian or Spanish team.HIghly likely Real Madrid.

shining_force SG

Yeah they are so many quality teams in the world.
Also if I may point out, You a Man U fan?
It Does'nt take a genius to figure out whos been pulling Man U out of the trenches time and time again Roy Keane of cos!
And you wanna talk about Makalele being a better defensive Mid than Roy Keane?
Keane by far the player and Zola that has the attribute of a football player this days football ball millionaires have been lacking...That sheer determination and self-driven to win attitude!

Look whos been anchoring the Midfield, covering the back four, tidy up the play and shuuting out opp plays.

He is undoubtably every manageris dream player (the determination non-nosense approach to the game)

Talk about providing calm and assurance to the play.

The only Def Mid thats worth mentioning about is Patrick Viera

Vicente14 SG

Roy Keane’s too old..He may be able to compete in the Premiership but on the European stage he is just another average joe…Look at how Zinedine Zidane ran rings around him and how he struggled to keep up…That is why they say Claude Makelele is the next generation Defensive Midfielder….He can tacke balls from the middle of midfield and at the same time contributes playmaking and passes to the attackers up front…

sLaCk3r SG

No.
This team is not worthy of being the european champs.
Great teams shld have borned champions, like ronaldo and thierry henry

shining_force SG

Nw tell me where did Ronaldo and Henry started off and what had that club achieved before.

Were they champions, pls do some fact finding dude

ernestantan SG

Man U stand a good chance if Real Madrid gets booted out in the next round.

Cheers!

Cerebral_Assassin SG

real has an inexperienced coach.........queiroz only can play defensive or offensive and cannot mix both despite he has so many star players at his disposal. in europe, u play tactics

shining_force SG

I think that will be a complete midfielder than a def mid.

But if I'm not wrong Roy is only older by 2 years to Makelele.
Noting that Roy Keane's attributes is never an attacking role, but a defensive role.
Thats Y Fergie bought him as one to do the tidying up.

There are many great midfield tacklers in the world but tackling alone won't win u the game.
Though simple in passing he seldom waste a pass and loss poccession.

Physically he may not be the best def mid.
But then again he was never one . He was reconigsied for his never say die mentality and ball winning skills.
When the stakes are down, apart from talent you will need someone to pull the team together.

i think ballack from germany ,van der vaart from ajax, roy keane from man u and vieira from arsenal are the strong powerful ball winners...

ballack is a all rounder, ball winner and a goal scorer..
have not seen much of van der vaart..but saw him teasing vieira in CL before..like last 1 or 2 years ago?world class ball winner vieira been tease around?? damn he must be a somebody i guess..

roy keane live up to his name, but getting old and doesnt have the xtra ability of scoring goals like ballack.
vieira... very competitive with roy keane,.however been quiet this season..

personally i think, nedved is old but his someone who can bring glory to the club! even in europe.

some of my views..trying to share.. Wink

really depend on the draws..if man u avoid those top teams n those top teams killed one another, might go into final..n when in final, anything can happen..

Vicente14 SG

Rafael Van Der Vaart and Arjen Robben will be HUGE stars in 5 years time….Just like Thierry Henry when he started shining in World Cup 98 for France and his days at Monaco…now, 4 years later he is one of the most complete strikers in the world and a FIFA World Player of The Year runner up….

Dun know la.
All the hype fried by the press.

The only kind of material that we folks get from the press and net.
Not that we have really seen them play much.(no broadcast from the cable unless u really watch them from channels god knows where?)

So how to justified?
Remember the hype Forlan had recieved 2 years back and now wat has he become of?

Therefore never judge the book by its cover not that we have seen that "cover" played before.
