maybe u read some papers describe VJ Singh as Asia's No.1 Golfer,
it is actually wrong description.
When u say Asia or Europe no. 1, the person must represent a
country from that Continent / region. Singh is of Asian descent
(Indian i think) but the
country Singh represent, Fiji, is not an Asian
country.
Fiji is classified under Oceania ('continental') region , not ASIA.
Hence, VJ Singh can be at most call Oceania's no.1, if people of ASIAN descent can be
labelled Asia's no.1, thenTiger Wood could also be called Asia's
No.1 and so is Micheal Chang when he was in top form can be called
Asia's No. 1, but however nobody did that because
they officially represent USA.
Alternatively media reporters may have confuse Fiji is Asian
because it is in Pacific and rather near Asia, however it belongs
to the Oceania region (which its principal continent is Australia).
Similarly Fiji must qualify for Soccer World cup via qualifying
rounds of Oceania nations, not via Asia
