She had been found naked, except for her jogging shoes, by fellow
runners around 10 am on Monday. She was bleeding from her head,
face and lips.
The hunt was centred at the area outside the Singapore Island
Country Club (SICC), which bounded by Upper Thomson Road and Lornie
Road.
The victim was described as being of medium build, had long hair
and was fair-complexioned.
One of the joggers who found her alerted the club's security
personnel, and the police were called immediately.
The woman is now in a stable condition in hospital, according to
police.
The trail where the woman was attacked is off a private road behind
the SICC. Usually used by members of the club to reach the golfing
greens, the trail leads to the Sime Road end of the Macritchie
Reservoir.
Police have not classified the case, pending results from a medical
examination.
