generally i think dark skinned races are better at sports and games ...think NBA and track and field events.... :p

I think all black players in America are good, no offence against them, BUT my target is against our local SOCCER players who are mostly malays, which I feel should be brought to balance, cos from what I've seen, most soccer trials held here for the S-League clubs, the Choosers are ALL Malays, so they tend to be biase in choosing only malay players, even if they play like SHIT!
As for some Chinese players who plays very well, they can't even get past the first round.....
So, should FAS and S-league still adopt this system of selecting malays as the choosers of soccer trials, THEY will never succeed in Goal 2010, cos they look down on Chinese which I feel that it just isn't fair, even more when they just axed nationals like Steven Tan and Lim Tong Hai....
I am proud to be a Chinese and I will always stand up for Chinses soccer players...

speaking from personal experience, generally speaking, the malays i've played with are better than the chinese. and i've played with many. many many. they have more balance and better ball sense. better technical skills too. they know when to move, when to stay and how to support you. there are a few good chinese players i know of, but few are good team players. the malays understand that soccer is a team game. they pass the ball better. i used to play with toh choon ming. honestly he wasn't that great. and now he's in the national team! you have to look at many things when u select a player. you may be very skilled but if you are not a team player you won't be selected. if your style of play doesn't fit the coach's game plan, you won't be selected either. if u have a screwed up attitude you won't be picked. so there are many things to consider.

Not being racist here,but i do tink 'ere r plenty of talented chinese players around.y 'ere r more malays in local soccer scene?cos palyin profesional soccer in S'pore is not really beri practical,most of us chinese will rather choose 2 study & get a cert instead of riskin our future 2 try get in2 the national team.Even if one do get in2 the national squad,the prospect ain't gd not like in foreign countries like England,Italy....tis xplains y 'ere r more malays playin professional soccer here,not b'cos they r better....

does being of a darker shade of brown or black suddenly make you a god of sport? have you thought of sociological reasons as to why they are generally better? like the type of games available to them? basketball in the ghettos of america are everywhere because its a social sport, a social activity, cheap and the geographical centrepiece in the hoods for social relations. as such, with so much exposure to the courts is it any wonder why there are so many blacks in the NBA, unlike say the ATP?

as for malays in football (i hate it when they call it soccer) the game is available to them for similar reasons. also, traditional games like sepak takral compliment football skills and techniques.

skin colour has NOTHING to do with it.

Thou' I'm a Chinese, I tink the Malays deserve my vote. Even young Malay kids have better ball sense n better control than Chinese kids.
1 of the reason is due family influences. Chinese parents seldom encourage their sons 2 take up soccer(partly fear of injuries), most of them wanted them 2 pick up instruments, swimming or indoor games such as bowling. So, by the time the kid started playing football, the Malay kid has alredi been well-trained in this sport. Cool

well…i am a chinese soccer player…n i personally think that malays n chinese have their own strength…malays usually have more ball sense more ball skills…but they r one hell of a lazy lot n they r beri attack minded…chinese on the other hand r the more determined pple n will work much harder for the team…take a look at most of the sleague chinese players most r either defensive midfielders stoppers man man markers or ball winners…think ong leong koen from gambak…goh tat chuan from jurong roy yeo from marine…tong hai from TP… kim leng from SAF…tan wee seng n tan sio beng from balestier…maybe except toh choon ming from gambak who is a striker…the other players r added to the team to give more bite to the team …malays have more skills simply bcoz they play the game almost everyday when they r young…not being racist here…but chinese families put much more emphasise on education than malay families n that’s y a lot of chinese promising youngsters drop out of the game when faced between the books n the ball…as for lots of malay coaches selecting malays instead of other races…i do believe there is a certain amt of truth in it….not saying that all coaches r like that though…

Malays are definetly not any better than chinese in SOCCER. Chinese are often not seen in Singapore teams becos they know that playing in a singapore national team is futureless. There is no future for them. Singapore is a nation held tightly by educational qualifications. Thus all promising young chinese opt out of playing for nationals and instead future their studies......

Hey..Singapore National team or the S-League are not make up Chinese or Malay only. What about our compatriots..the Indian and the Eurasian. The foreigners? Please..try not to be myopic in your view to see the whole picture.

To achieved GOAL 2010..the Singapore Sport Council are willing to import foreign talents into football. They will be given PR status and trains at a very young age. And they are going to be the future representatives of our National team for the qualification of World Cup. Our local boys were have to compete with them..irregardless whether you are of what race. It is irrelevant whether you are a good Chinese or Malay football player. Are you as good as the foreign talent?
