Engine stalling

Hello Jay! Haha by right the steering wheel got self centering mechanism. But not too good to rely solely on it ok cool.. lol..

today my engine stalled so many times on the way to practice my driving lessons to sengkang along YCK… so damn pissed… instructor told me press more on accelerator..

dunno bah.. cause my instructor told me press more on the accelerator.. when moving off, i half clutch den press accelerator, den i just maintain the accelerator abit den remove clutch.. den engine died.. guess thats my prob..

ur clutch leg move too fast... rev till >1.5 then slowly let go..

method wrong liao.

when u find biting point, as u release clutch u mus depress the acclerator.

gently depress until clutch fully released or preferred speed obtained.

I think it's a bad idea to depend on the tacho .... should be by feel ....

not all cars come with tacho you know ....

learner cars all shd have tacho la. tts the oni way a noob can stop from over reving and getting points piled on.

trying to get the feeling right now… because changing gear all this still ok, no prob… stopping and braking also no prob.. only when moving off from 1st gear.. thats the whole crappy part..

well i suspect u nvr reach optimal speed before releasing clutch fully thus incurring engine brake n engine stall.

You must listen to the sound of the engine too.

Don't just do: Right foot down, left foot up, mechanically.

Listen, feel, and co-ordinate your accelerator and clutch.

Remember the clutch moves the vehicle.

The accelerator gives power.

oh ya one more thing tt i jus remembered.

sometimes the fooking car / truck has a problem w the hydraulic clutch, the pump will 'leak' and thus giving you a false biting point or unpredictable biting points. this will also cause you to stall when driving off.

the trick around it is to pump the clutch a few times before you actually engage gear

yeah thats what my instructor told me too... i always dun dare press accelerator too much... he always tell me dun care just press more... i'm taking private thou and thx God my instructor is a nice guy..

When its vibrating too much thats when you need to put in a lil' more gas.

Like someone here mentioned; you need to get a feel of it. Then its more natural.

Feel the car.... Once u feel the acceleration is powerful enuff den slowly release clutch...

haha very normal la... some ppl take lessons few months engine also still stall...

I still stall on my 10th lesson =D, because I forgot to clutch in when I was braking at the Ubi road driving down to Braddell. Damn traffic jam. Thankfully I don't stall in the middle of a turn or in the middle of a road. Today got driving, so happy =)
