SINGAPORE – It’s on.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has officially accepted a challenge
from a group of local food bloggers and SingTel to see if
Singapore’s hawker food can match up to the standards of the
prestigious Michelin Guide.
The culinary contest will see Ramsay pit his skills against three
hawkers, who will be selected through a public poll on the
HungryGoWhere website, in a cook-off.
“Frankly, I’m not an expert on Singapore food. I’m not sure it is
as good as the Singaporeans actually say it is. Trust me, I’ve got
to see this for myself and see what they have to offer,” Ramsay
said in a video response (see above).
“One thing I’m certain of is that people like my version
better.
“SingTel, I truly accept your challenge. Game on.”
