Cooking is a very hands-on thing, so seems like a degree might
not be the way to go, lots of people can cook, maybe if
you want to look for some job that needs those credential
then it's fine, but it's a niche market. If you are local, be
prepare to be over whelmed by the amount of foreigners taking super
duper low pay for any thing with a wok.
