scratch on windscreen

Hi guys! I just discover that there is a very deep scratch in my wind screen. Kinda like its cracked.

Some questions reguarding this issue.
My insurance states that my excess is $800.
Will claiming my insurance affect my NCD?

Next thing is that I have 3M solar film in the windscreen. Is there warranty against the scratch? Can i change my damaged wind screen to the new wind screen?
Do i need to prchase a new film? or they can give me a new one?

Depending on who you are insured with, you can claim 1 windscreen replacement per annum without effecting your NCD; so best you check with your insurance company on where you stand. Alternatively I have used E-Glass to repair small chips & cracks on my windscreen before and thoroughly recommend them. It's a cheap & easy alternative depanding on how badly the glass is damaged.
