Some updates! There is currently 2 types of Doctor Fish, Namely Garra species & Chin Chin Fish The 1st type is Garra species Doctor Fish, or the so called the Doctor Fish with therapeutic effects for psoriasis (skin disease) patients. As the Garra species feasts on your skin, which results in the renewal and renovation of the Skin and in so doing, normalise the skin. The Garra species I have is from India, as importing from Turkey is near impossible as Turkey have strict restrictions in exporting the fish out, unless you are willing to pay SGD$10-20 per fish ;) The india garra species is almost identical to the ones in turkey , and much CHEAPER price heh.
Each Indian Garra species is SGD5.00 , I heard Qian Hu sells like $10.00-$20.00 each for a similar fish..

The other type is the Chin Chin Doctor Fish, which I posted earlier, this fish is very similar to the Garra Species type , except for the point it does not secrete Dithranol, though it does exfoliate your skin like the Garra Species.
The price of chin chin doctor fish has increased to $1.70 per fish due to the increasing prices of transport..

So the main difference of the fishes at a glance;

Garra species
Control psoriasis - Yes
Exfoliate skin - Yes
Bottom Feeder
Softer nibble
$5.00 per fish

Great thanks for the overwhelming response!
Here's a general FAQs for the fishes

Basic Care Instructions
Must do
Apply anti-chlorine in tank before putting fishes in
Aeration to the tank using air stones, etc
Filters for the tank

Feed the fishes daily (Yes! you still need to feed the fishes) with normal fish food for chin chins and sinking fish food pellets for Garra species
Use a UV clarifier (Pre Filter) to sterilize the water and algae control (Optional)

Do a 1/2 tank water change every 2-4weeks for chin chins and as and when needed for Garra Species. If you have Water clarifier like TetraAqua CrystalWater, TetraAqua Easy Balance, you can reduce the amount of water changes up to 6months!

Please note Garra species have a tendency to jump (HIGH!) while its adapting to the new tank, so covering the tank up with a net would be a good idea. They tend to jump towards water flow if you have a water inlet flowing over the surface of the water.
DO NOT put any exposed pipings in the water for Garra species as they have a bad habit of checking out small pipes/tubings and you might end up with like LOTS of Garra species dead in a pipe/tubing.

Some updates on my garras. They are actually a hybrid of Garra Rufa, which is supposedly better than the originals.

I had several fish spas and foot reflexology centres that carries my Garras and some feedback said that my Garra species responds better on human skin! (More fish feasting on your skin = faster results!)

Will upload a video soon to compare Garra rufa and my Garra species.

Life span wise is slightly longer for my type too, ranging from 5-7 years under proper care. Whereas Garra Rufas are about 4-6 years.

International Delivery is now available! For Malaysia delivery , there will be a SGD$200.00 delivery and handling charge . For other countries, please email for a quote and please provide us with an import permit to speed up the process. If not we can send to your nearby fish shop (still require their import permit) This step is crucial as we don't want any delays at the customs.. Delay = Dead fishes = Unhappy customer!

Once again, You can reach me at 98768277 (Michael) or email me at [email protected] :)

Updates! For international delivery, there is a minimum order of 1000 fishes..
For local and international orders, I will normally throw in a little bit more than you order as some fishes might die during the transit process. This is quite normal as they are stressed during delivery. For international customers who wish to contact me, please call me before 12.30am (GMT+8) or you will hear a very sleepy voice ;) International customers my number is +6598768277 or 02-98768277 for malaysian customers!
