Take just a bite of this char kway teow and you will understand why
this stall gets so many accolades from newspapers and television
shows. Robust and full of flavour, each plate of noodles comes with
lots of egg, beansprouts, chives and, yes, lard bits. The dish may
not be very healthy but the brother-and-sister team does try to
keep the oil to a minimum. In business for over 40 years, their
recipe and cooking method were passed down from their father. They
say the secret lies in the strength of the flame. The lard bits and
the chives chip in extra flavour too. Avoid going on weekends if
you don't like to wait – the queue is always long.
