This dish is divine, with well-marinated chicken pieces and lovely
salted-fish bits tucked inside the fragrant rice. You will find
yourself going back again and again for more. The rice is first
cooked over gas stoves and then left to cook slowly over charcoal
stoves to bring out the full flavour of the ingredients, says boss
Ng Kim Hock. Be prepared to wait at least half an hour, or call
ahead to order. While waiting, try the soft-shell crab ($12,small),
lotus duck ($9, small) and tom yam steamed fish ($24, small). Or
take along a book to read, like some of the regulars do.
~I usually will go without the salted fish bits......just my
personal taste.
