soleachip SG Any thoughts on some of the more dangerous roads in Singapore?Devil's Bend is one and there's a fatal accident at Yio Chu Kang road today.
Pitot SG I don't think there are "dangerous" roads. Yes, there might be some tricky ones but as long as it is driven at under all safety parameters, there shouldnt be a problem. I do think that there are reckless and dangerous drivers though.
soleachip SG Didn't some drivers get into fatal accidents even when traveling at 40km along Devil's Bend?Sometimes you'll never know. Especially during bad weather.
kopiosatu SG how do u get into trouble at 40km/hr?even the military vehicles are set at 50km/hr.its really not the road's fault.i would say more of a user problem
stellazio SG every road was built for men to walk upon. for every 100 drivers, there might be 1 who gets into an accident, and its not the road's fault.
soleachip SG Then its either driver error or mechanical.how to blame the road and the weather?Erm, i think road users and vehicle types aside, road features (surface + weather) play a role in accidents as well.
Pitot SG Erm, i think road users and vehicle types aside, road features (surface + weather) play a role in accidents as well. Then that falls to the driver since we are taught to adjust and drive according to road conditions. I don't see how you can blame the road or weather?
kopiosatu SG like that, everything will be dangerous, right?doesn't matter where.if i'm at a winding road on a wet day, i'm not gonna take the curve at 160km/hr.it really is the user problem. they should go for defensive / advanced driving / riding course.
soleachip SG i'm still wondering wheres the devil's bend.I think it's located at old upper thompson road though never travelled through it before? While trying to look for a place the other night, almost turned into the spooky mount pleasant road.
Xcert SG i'm still wondering wheres the devil's bend.yio chu kang...last time SIM had a site nearby...got one prata shop just outside the bend.
soleachip SG Then that falls to the driver since we are taught to adjust and drive according to road conditions. I don't see how you can blame the road or weather? There are bound to be accident prone spots around the island duh. Theory and practical different mah.
kopiosatu SG its prone because most singaporeans are idiot drivers.but there's currently no cure for idiocy
Pitot SG There are bound to be accident prone spots around the island duh. Theory and practical different mah.haha. that i agree. but then, it boils down to human or mechanical error. ultimately, that is what accident stands for right?
soleachip SG its prone because most singaporeans are idiot drivers.but there's currently no cure for idiocywah so much gusto. perfect riding/driving skills ar?
soleachip SG but then, it boils down to human or mechanical error. ultimately, that is what accident stands for right?you can't be serious.
