no need driver if you are using windows xp.
My guess is that your disk is not formatted yet as its brand
new.
Do the follwing to format your disk ..
Open Control Panel
Select Adminitrative Tools
Select Computer Management
Select Disk Management
Here you will see all the disks that are available on your
computer, you should be able to see you new disk and you will be
able to format you disk from here.
