i also at dorset road during the 80s leh. and yesh, i like the yong tau hu also. eh, not forgetting the chai tau kuay ley. the kuay chap, the chay bee hoon. oh my goodness, i am killing myself by making self hungry. Sad

the chwee kuay is use the big plastic container one izzit?

You lived there too? I was staying at Blk 9 Gloucester Rd. Yes, the Chwee Kuay comes in a single plastic tub ( slightly bigger than 4 traditional small cups). It used to cost 70 cts per tub, later 80 cts, but I think the price has gone up to $1.00.

There is also a chinese stall selling mee siam and lontong. I like it too.

sorry, side track a little. I like the chwee kuay in Cambridge food centre better than tiong bahru. The chwee kuay really taste yumi - it is fried with dried shriumps. the one at tiong bahru lacks taste and the kuay is bland/blend.

wa, old neighbours here ah!! Me stayed in that area b4. Now sometimes still go to that hawker centre. One recommendation - the meen chang kuay is nice - full of peanuts ingredients and costs only 50 cents.

The meen chang kuay is the favourite of residents there. My wife likes it very much. We still go there on some weekends.

Blk 9 is very "safe". A police post is right at the void deck. At that time, if you want to jog, go to the track; want to play tennis, go to the tennis centre; want to play soccer, so many pitches there; want to eat, no problem; want to swim, can also. It's better than condo living.

There were a few teochew porridge shops there. Quite nice, but I didn't patronize them as much as I patronize Cambridge Food centre.
