I was at Lao Beijing last week, one of the chic new china-themed
restaurants in Spore that serve xiaolongpao (steamed pork
dumplings) and stuff like that.
There were 2 of us, & we ordered 3 dishes: steamed dumplings
(came within 10mins), chicken with dried chillies (another 10mins
after the 1st dish came).
Then we waited for the last dish - seafood fried noodles for $16 -
and it didnt come. After 30mins since we 1st sat down, we asked a
waiter. He went to check, but didnt come back to inform us. My
friend and I chatted.
After another 5mins of waiting, we asked another waiter. She went
to check, but didnt bother to come tell us anything.
After another 5mins, we asked yet another waiter. She went to
check, but same thing, she didnt come back to inform us.
So, after about 60mins since we came to the restaurant, we were
only served 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered. We got tired, and went to
pay. I was expecting an apology:
Me: Bill please. (I was at the payment counter). We didnt get the
noodles.
She: (punching up the bill) Huh? No noodles ah
? Ok ok
.
So, basically, we didnt get an apology. The food was quite nice
overall, and the china-inspired interior was something different,
but if they cant be bothered to treat their customers nicer, Im
not going back there again. Are you?
