YA.YA SG I fianlly got to try some yesterday. Wow the taste was amazing!!! Although i hardly take beef, this beef i had was so excellent! It melts in yr mouth! Whee truly amazing. Although expensive i recommand everyone to try it!
YA.YA SG Sorry sorry. Chill At Aston's Specialties (opp katong mall) Waygu grade 9 beef from Mayura Station, price is at $128.90 for 300gm. Comes with 2 side dishes.According to my friend this is very hard to get. I also not sure but Iam glad i finally got to try it. If got chance at any place again i sure will eat it again!
ieat SG Here you go: Pics of the marbling of the beef plus a write up on the difference between purebred wagyu and fullblood wagyu as well as Marbling scores http://ieatishootipost.blogspot.com/2007/01/astons-wagyu-grade-9-platinum-ribeye.html
YA.YA SG Oh yah Must say a big thanks to ieat. Cos of yr blog that my friend read, thats why he knew about the Wagyu in Aston's!! Then I got free treat of Wagyu beef!!! Thanx ya. lol
DummiesInc SG The marbling looks good, but I'm afraid the taste will turn out similar to the grade 5 one which I had at Aston's many months back. Just for the record, the grade 5 wagyu was not up to expectations.
DummiesInc SG Maybe I'll try, but I'm afraid it will not meet expectations again. And $75 is a lot of $ to blow to try. I rather spend $150 to eat top grade kobe beef.
DummiesInc SG Not possible. Have to do a special import with minimum order of 5kg. $150 is for 180g. Prices do not include air freight.
Laplace SG Yup, had my share of Mayura Station's Grade 9 Wagyu 300 gribyeye last Thursday @ Astons. Had it rare and it did not disappoint at all. But @ $128.00 per serving I guess it will be many months before I try it again, that is if they still bring it in.
ieat SG Aston has just brought in 9 pieces of Wagyu that looks like this: http://ieatishootipost.blogspot.com/2007/03/stop-press-wagyu-grade-11-astons.html You have to quickly call up to reserve a piece if you want to try this! $150
