SBS 597 X (HG 103) was one of the perms on service 371. I took it on the last day of service (11 March 2005).

219 & 229 were mainly Volvo B57s (4xxx series) & Scania N113CRB NACs.

In mid->late 1996, i guessed the Volvos B57s (4xxx..) had already been phased out..

svc 219 - 3606, 3608, 3630, 3648, 3685...

svc 229 - 3593, 3629, 3631, 3636, 3691, 3692, 3715..

As I've mentioned earlier, Bedok Int feeders shared 1713, 1746, 3807.. etc around. I have even seen svc 226 on Mercedes-Benz O305 once. I didn't mentioned in my 1st post because I have no proof...

VO2X appeared on 18 before 1995.

Because I moved to Woodlands in 1994 and had to leave my VO2X behind........and face the Hinos on 901. Major downgrade.

From my records, VO2X started rolling on May-Jun 95. Started on svc 10, svc 7, svc 14 & so on.

for svc 18 - 7248, 7290, 7292, 7293.....

During the peak hours, there would be crossovers between svc 30 & 18..

Eh can't be leh. My memory can't be that bad. Though its really not much different actually. I wouldn't have spent my youth joy-riding on 18 if it had been just SDs and I can recall it is the new VO2X that was exciting....after putting up with the noisy LO2X and 0305, the VO2X was really quite a modern bus to hanker after.

I haven't taken 18 since I moved in 1994.
