Angus Steakhouse at Takashimaya ( 4th level from internal department store escalator and turn to your right) .

I tasted Kobe steak there - highly recommended . Melts in your mouth totally and very tender even though I asked for well done.

They go for about 150 per 200 g or something like that.

You can get wagyu at a less expensive cost at Astons. But the quality is probably not on par with Angus Steakhouse.

As far as I know you can get them from Esprito Santo @ Great World and Medi-ya @ Liang Court. It's probably available at Isetan too.

However these are the mid-ranged quality beef (marble score 5 to 6) compared to premieum Kobe beef which rates beyond 10.

It better taste good, considering the japs spent a fortune feeding the bugger malt beer, specially prepared food and other delights...maybe even play mozart for the cow to listen during rest time... Rolling Eyes

Mainland japs already defer their preference to Otawara beef now, Kobe beef considered substandard. Mr. Green

Tried the Grade 9 Wagyu Beef Steak at Astons. For those who want to know about Wagyu, I have added some useful links to the article as well.

Anyway, I find that Wagyu is a whole different steak compared to the normal beef. The texture and taste is different and the way you eat it is also different. Grade 9 Wagyu is the best in the supplier's inventory because Grade 10 and above usually doesn't make it to Singapore. They go direct to the Japanese market where they are willing to pay $800 per kilo for it!
