Now that SMRT is progressively phasing out all the rigid buses
starting with the secondary models...
1. Nissan UDs are all gone.
2. Scanias are gone leaving the last 4 units behind (to be gone
by 2014).
3. DAFs that were registered in late 1995 are already gone
(remainder to be gone by 2014).
4. Half of the Lances are already gone (hope all will be gone
soon).
5. The whole entire Hino fleets had been removed lately.
6. Merc 0405s are reaching their end of lifespan soon starting
with 425R and 426M this coming July (by early 2015 at least 90% of
the 0405 fleet should be gone).
7. Not sure of the fate for the Volgren 0405s, whether they will
be refurbished and extended, or early lay up.
Just curious on how will the entire SMRT fleet be like then.
Especially for bus services like 178 and 975.
Volgren O405s will definitely be refurbished and given lifespan
extension based on the annual report by SMRT in 2011.
