Nowadaes, pure web design portfolios won’t get you far.
Especially not locally. Unless of course your some big name like
hillmancurtis or some other large company specializing totally in
web design no one really cares…like that web company that
eventually got to do hp’s line of + sign advertisements. Go get
some classical or print based designs for the portfolio if you
really want it to stand out. But even then…
