It is that the Scania buses receive early refurbishment on their
15th year of lifespan.
And the standard rule (to SMRT I think) is that refurbished
buses have an extended lifespan of 2 years, which means they will
be deregistered two years later.
But I agree with you, the lifespan of these buses should have
been extended.
Most likely SMRT will not extend 500-series but will extend some
600-series.
Hope that TIB635B will get extended.
