sv10 morning to CBD confirm FAIL QoS...
commuters who cant board 10e[as it is already packed] will try to
squeeze sv10, go see for yourself at Suntec bus stop,
Evening 1st, 2nd sv10e packed, 3rd ok, 4th half full
sv10 is ok provided the traffic at Keppel Rd is manages properly so
that the bus arrive at the scheduled timings...
sv12 has too many SDs in fleet, during CNY period while i was at
牛车水, it is SDs at night when the DDs are slacking at the
depot...
mornings twds Pasir Ris, East Coast Rd seen bus is very
packed...
Strange PT officials, throw so many DDs to sv43[wic has a
parrallel 76] rather than improve those that are bursting at
seams...(as mentioned in earlier posts, sv43 evening load is from
Nex to Punggol, down trips from here would suffice)
Last week, 1811hrs spotted at Tanjong Katong South/Mountbatten Rd
junction, 1 sv43 DD, followed by 2 sv76 DDs, then SBS6234D,
empty... SIGH
Do you know that 76 also had capacity increase recently? Now it
has 11 DDs, 5 SDs. 43, 70, 76 case is unique. 76 is one of the only
bus that connects through the most populous areas of AMK to Paya
Lebar. The morning peak timing load on each bus is around 100 pax.
You will see around 30 pax getting down at Asiawide, another 30 at
Tai Seng. The bus will have just 20 pax when it reaches Paya Lebar
MRT. Here, if a 43 or 135 has not called at the stop, then at least
70-75 people enter the bus just at this stop. If there is a 43 or
135 just ahead, there will be only 7-8 people boarding the 76 and
so at Marine Parade you will see only 20 pax in the DD.
I would have added more DDs to 70 and 76 rather than svc 43 as
in the area where it plies on its own Buangkok Green to Punggol or
Marine Parade to East Coast Terminal, the normal loading is only
around 30-40 pax. But 43 is
a good service to provide relief to 76 from Marine Parade to Tai
Seng, and 70 from Paya Lebar to YCK Road.
I remember last year when the capacity on 43 was increased from
2 to 4 DDs, everyone said it is a waste. Later in the year, the
capacity increased from 4 to 8 DDs. You never know they might add
1-2 more DDs to make 43 50% high capacity service. It is HGDEPs
favourite service.
