to improve quality of public transport, standing in the buses
should be disallowed, just like private buses/coaches or upper deck
of DDs
all the bus services should be converted to premium services
this way we won't encounter such problem
another alternative is to install another Ezlink Sep reader at
the rear of the buses such that passengers who move to the rear to
tap their cards will get a 50 cents rebate of their total fare.
This way passengers will vie to move to the back of the buses
But there might not be any space for the readers to be installed
and even if there is, it will cost a lot and will require a lot of
system development and maintenance. Also, some of those kiasu
aunties out there will just tap and then move back to the front. Or
on buses like the citaro, it is easy to tap on the readers without
really going to the back.
