HOUGANG CENTRAL AND TOA PAYOH INTERCHANGES WILL BE
MOVING
To make way for the construction of the Hougang MRT Station, the
Hougang Central Bus Interchange will be shifting to its new
location along Upper Serangoon Road, next to Hougang Plaza. This
temporary interchange will start operations on Sunday, 24 May
1998.
Due to space constraints, only 6 services (Services 84, 97, 111,
153, 165 and 325) will use the new interchange. The remaining 4
services (Services 74, 147, 501 and 502) will not call at the new
interchange but will have boarding and alighting activities done
near to the new interchange. The existing interchange will become a
terminal, with no boarding and alighting activities.
HDB will be constucting their new headquarters at the existing
location of Toa Payoh Bus Interchange. This new HDB Centre will
also house a modern bus interchange.
To facilitate the construction of the HDB Centre, the existing
Toa Payoh Interchange will move to its new temporary location
across Toa Payoh Lorong 6, beside the Toa Payoh Town Park. The
temporary bus interchange wll start operations from Sunday, 31 May
1998.
