A lot SMRT services anti-DD... Get the picture now? Don't be so biased against 'em... Am I right SBS8501U/TIB1138M?

A lot of these services ply along DTL western wing. When DTL opens, most of these services don't even need to use high capacity buses. Some of the route might even be axed or shortern.

And some of these services are affected by low branches along Dunearn Road. I would suggest LTA and NEA to work together to relocate these low branch trees and replace them with high branching trees, thus to allow double deckers to ply along the road. It is such a waste that double deckers can't ply along that stretch of road just because of low tree branches to provide a better bus service overall.

Worse that because of this, many commercial vehicles as well, especially large mobile cranes and container trucks have to make a big detour just because of this. Wasting fuel and money for companies.

The layout at PTB2 is also a little bit hard for bendies but it should still be able to manuevre out. PTB1 is definitely the problem... The lane for the bus is simply too small for any headways. It would definitely be like this.

172 do not need DD / bendy. This bus goes from Poyan Court all the way to Choa Chu Kang. All lim chu kang routes do not even need a proper DD unless 190 extended to Lim Chu Kang.

People, let's not assume anything. All manufacturers will be in for a chance. Yes, the usual candidates such as the Mercedes-Benz Citaro G or MAN NG 323/363 A24 are the obvious choices, but others such as the Scania N 320/360 UA, Volvo B9LA, Irisbus Citelis 18, or even Chinese products are also available to whoever wants to buy them.

Yeah hope its MAN NG363 A24.

Dennis engines should be considered by local PTOs...
It is favoured by major operators in UK, HK for DDs...
Volvo is too over rated for DD engines...
3 axle versions of SDs[not bendys] are very common in Europe for their capacity and manuverability, makes includes MAN, Citaro, took in Salzburg[2012], really appreciate the smooth, powerful ride

Agree!!! Pang hate bendy to the max and he want all bendy scrap and replace with creepy KUB n KUD!!! Imagine Singapore have 1500 KUB!!! SO SCARY!!!

I prefer the Cummins Enviro 500 over any other DDs but too bad the previous Cummins Dennis left a skeptical remarks on our PTO.I believe Cummins has improve since it became Alexander-Dennis.

@Iveco,Trust me that they won't give a hoot about B12BLE.MAN 10500cc and OC 12000cc road tax already a bane for them.Their requirement should be under 10000cc with good horsepower rating buses.Neoplan nowadays concentrate on intercity/Coaches only since they merge with MAN.VanHool only bendy and 12m.So DD left only Alexander-Dennis,Volvo & Scania unless MAN can offer 12m 3x DD to them.

As for bendy it's usual MB,MAN and I'm not surprise if Irisbus or even VanHool send their application

Not a chance. Perth bought the last of the Volvo B12BLEAs. The B12-range is no longer in production.

bus bay cannot handle bendies as it blocks other bus services behind

if the bay is the rear most, still not possible. the only solution is to give 858 a dedicated bay on the other side.
