Hi, I am very amused (in a positive way) by this forum.
When I was a kid, I used to study the bus guide, I remember it
being 30cts, 40cts and 50cts.
My parents used ask me what buses go where. Then when i was
older, I would go touring Singapore because those days a students
pass allows you free travel on all buses.
But I miss the buses from the past. I remember there used be
just a bus with only 1 entrance and exit in the middle - I think it
was a mercedes model.
Then we had Leyland buses. I also remember service 153 had a
unique model - Berliot I think it was. Servic 153 also unique, the
bus would stop halfway and refill at Bradell, something quite
common in the 70s, but in the 80s, only 153 did this often.
So is there any website that has photos of buses from the 70s
and 80s? Or an old bus guide and is there any place to view them?
Does SBS Hq have a museum for these?
I used to stay in Seletar camp and we had 314E and 314W, 1 of
the first places to have a feeder bus.
Later I lived in AMK and service 261 I think was the 1st to use
a double decker as a feeder service.
So besides any old photos any older stories will be appreciated
as well!
