They can built RHD version on condition the order must be huge le,If the co order 300 units probably MAN or Scania Citywide will have RHD.

Hope these 450 buses(Citaro mainly) would have their rear doors fixed right at the end, before the 4/5 seaters, if LTA does their homework. Or else, you can expect the same thing of not moving to the rear incident happening even with 10k buses.

SBST should buy serveral hundreds of Citaros [2011 model] to replace the retiring B10M Striders and DM3500s in the future.

i guess when SBST first purchased the 300 Citaros, they have an option to buy another few hundred of the same model? I guess they really wanted to exercise the option after the Citaro lived up to their expectations

Singapore – SBS Transit places order for a further 550 Volvo double-deck buses

After the award of 150 Volvo B9TL double-deck buses in 2009, and a further 300 double-deck buses in 2010, Volvo Buses has now secured a further order for 550 Volvo B9TL double deck buses with a value over US$ 200 million. The customer, SBS Transit, has once again opted for environmentally friendly Euro V Volvo engines, although these are not yet a requirement in Singapore, and Wrightbus aluminium bodies.

What a disappointment. But admittedly it was too much to expect from SBST to order the newest bus models out there with untried Euro VI technology. On a brighter note, it means that SBST will probably get the last Citaro ever made, just like the Leyland Olympians.

I don't know what's so disappointing about having new buses on the road.

Get over it and appreciate the fact that at least SBST will be more likely to be able to provide more and better service when they arrive.

As for why its the old bus....its probably because SBST has now chosen to exercise an option.
