the pavement at blk 923 bus stop allows up to 2 bendies and 1
rigid to do loading unloading movements at any one time..unless u
tell me that u always see 4 buses coming at a go, the unloading
movements at that particular bus stop have always been smooth
going
esp during peak hr.. 800/811/812 bendies just need to filter
into the left lane after that bus stop to turn in, 804/806 ones
just go straight.. nothing difficult abt getting out of the queues
bendy buses cause because there isnt even a queue
same goes for northpoint shopping ctr one...only grudge is that
those taxis and private buses waiting for their pax forever clog up
the road..a road hazard to everyone else also
in fact, like most other ppl, it is frustrating when ur bus
turns into the interchange and u see a whole line of buses clog up.
but its not due to bendy unloading i can assure u
most bendies that enter are from feeder routes that enter with a
meagre number of pax for most of them would have alighted outside,
unloading activities take at most 15 second and then they go
but it is some irresponsible drivers that want to tap their card
to go off svc, slowing dragging their feet to the counter bef
tapping, sometimes even waiting for the minute to change bef they
tap
thats why there is a jam
That is when the bus stop is big, how about small bus stops? 2
bendy bus and 1 single decker can save more space for 5 single
deckers at least.
Without bendy buses, these buses can cater more single deckers
in the bus stop and allow more bus services to stop at the same
time to allow commuters to board and alight at the same time. LTA
can even save the space for other purposes if there are no bendy
buses. Singapore land is limited, not like big countries.
You only talk about the bus stop outside. How about the queues
they formed inside the bus interchanges and the chaos they made for
parking woes in depots? And no private vehicles involved.
