RIP.
I would reckon its the BC's fault...
It's also a warning for us pedestrians to not take the green
light for granted and having a good situational
awareness.........
I would also take it as a lesson as a driver to be extra
cautious at pedestrian crossings.
All too often, drivers will be making sure of many things, eg.
light in favour or not, where's the kerb, any other person nearby
etc and then fail to look at what appears to be so obvious on
hindsight...when its too late.
And slow =/= safe driving.
