I'm not sure as to why the extension of last buses, But is it nesssacary to extend both 97 and 133's timing? And considering 133's last car from Shenton way starting at 2400, Isn't that too late, considering people are at home preparing for work tommorow?

That's SBS Transit's decision. I think they had discussed further to see whether there's a need for the extension of last bus hours. If you really want to stop them, I think you should stop and tell them to withdraw the press releases and ask why are they doing this.

may b 265 shld change route, start from AMK int , amk ave8/st53/52/54/ave10/3 and continue to loop at AMDEP & vice-versa.. (follow the 222 method)

but seriously the word "TOWNLINK" shld b remove for no plate cos no pt unless it follow tampines/pasir ris format... serve 2 sides which need to go beyond/up to bus interchange

If the route plies two ways between/from the interchange, it is still a Townlink service no matter what, it doesn't require the service to terminate.

Seriously most bus routes from CBD ought to have last bus at least after 2400.

Most of SMRTB svs dispatch last bus at 2330 which I believe has room for improvement. It's obvious if it's school holidays.

Probably. This excludes 502 and 518, because they are Express services.

when there is demand, SBST will extend the timing.. there bound to be people who want to take buses at this timing.. think only a lot of SMRT buses service all have their last bus at 2330only...

Even SMRT decided to cut back 178 to 2330 from Boon Lay from 0000.

The last bus timing for 858 to reach Woodlands back from Changi Airport, Yishun or Sembawang was almost 0130 hours already.

Not a lot. I think plenty of the SMRT buses services have their last bus hours after 2330 hours.

fact is yes a lot of smrt services that depart from town are at 2330. notably 190 700A 960.

Actually last bus of 133 is 0015hrs from esplanade to amk. the extension of hours from shenton way is to cater those going home from MBS. MBS last bus 133 will be extended by half hour instead. Those from esplanade onwards will not have any impact on these changes.

TIB 781 L: yes 2330 most people would be home. but how about those who are not home and want a cheap way to go home? and how about on fridays, saturdays and key PH eves?

As what sbst275 says, if any bus route from CBD area is before 2400hrs, it should be extended to 2400hrs from town. if its after 2400hrs, then let it be.

fully agreed. Services like 171 and 857 (heading towards Yishun) end pretty early at around 2330+ from Esplanade and I often miss the last 857 but luckily there is 133 which is still operating :)

The news is found on a poster at Tampines Bus Interchange, somewhere near 18/28/38 berth, think that SBS Transit website did not have the press release currently.
