A double-decker bus collided with a
stationary car at the junction between Bishan Road and Bishan
Street 14 earlier this afternoon.
The SCDF received a call about the accident at 3.55 pm and
dispatched 2 ambulances, a Red Rhino and a fire engine to the
scene.
An eyewitness said that the bus had been moving fast while
attempting to merge into a slip road. It then lost control and hit
the side of a stationary car that had been headed in the direction
of Bishan St 22.
The car driver, a Chinese male in his 60s, was trapped in the
wreckage of the car and had to be extricated. He was pronounced
dead at the scene, The woman in the passenger seat, a Chinese
female in her 50s, was taken to Tan Tock Seng hospital hospital
with complaints of swollen legs and pain in her right arm.
It is unknown if the bus driver or passengers were injured in
the collision.
