Maybe why HGDEP has been considered to have decent if not good
mainteinance all these while might very well be due to its
constituent fleet being made up of the B10Ms and VOs, especially
the MKIIIs.
The MKIII has a clean slate to boast of.
MKIII ain't fast (usually), ain't handsome...but it certainly
did its job remarkably well, as a true blue workhorse. The closest
I can think of are the SBST 0405s, but for some strange reason,
people are willing to overlook this fact and lampoon the MKIIIs and
laud the 0405s...which doesnt do the MKIII justice at
all. After all, they arrived around the same time, and gave SBS a
modern fleet with the N113s and the Superbuses and the other B10Ms.
So at the least we should appreciate this fact.
Oh. And I like the fact that its impossible to remove the seats
on the B10Ms, never mind the crappy legroom.
very much agree on this. the MKIIIs are very good workhorses.
after about 18 to 19 years in operation, not a single one retired
earlier than lifespan expiry. no known fire incidents happened on
the MKIIIs as well. they might be slow, but they are just so
rugged. sometimes i'd rather a MKIII over an O405...
