Restate the old service 137?

Service 137 was withdrawn in late 1992. As such service 163 was amended to terminate at Toa Payoh, covering the lost links between Toa Payoh and Upp Thomson, and also to reduce duplication with other services along Thomson Road to Marina Centre as part of the rationalisation.

Anyway, it was a suggestion to extend it to Marina Centre via Novena, Orchard, River Valley, Chinatown, Shenton Way and MBS. Marina Bay was different from what it was in 1992. Now there is MBS, so it will be good if there are links to there from Thomson, Toa Payoh, Novena and Chinatown. Terminates the same place but maybe a different route for different demand patterns. 137 can probably bypass the zoo and use BKE to Jurong East, another fast link from Toa Payoh to Mandai to Jurong East.

For me, I personally feel that 163 should have at least 4 perm DDs only for weekday S-shifts. Whereas full day and E-shifts continue to stick to the SDs. For weekends it will run as full SD fleet as usual.

it should have tons of dd bus on the morning, i hate sqeezing in the bus like a sandrine

Just saw Batch II VO on 163....

Now is 2220....what is the wisdom in having the DD serve at this time, you tell me? lol

And off-peak like now is the most terrigible time for taking 163....frequency starts from 20 min.

I understand why 163 has a lousy frequency, its not very popular....

But to throw DD into this service suddenly leaves me ????? cos I would rather they increase the service capacity by having more buses, not converting SD slots to DD!

maybe sbs put one DD bus and remove 2 SD buses? or not enough SD bus? may the new cirato bus come in handy now. sbs should review this service as seletar area is fast turning into a air space hub for air plane service.

If I remember correctly service 113 used to have 8 buses but was reduced to 7 for whatever reasons.

There's no need to make it political. At the end of the day as there's ppl alrdy switching to 45 & 53 to take NEL, fleet rationalisation is unavoidable.

By making it political as like e past, it'll only make other ppl start quarrelling over bus sv capacity

sbs should extend the 163 back to CBD area like the old time and make it a semi-express service route since along the way there are many other route to the city. To help to reduce traffic on the North South MRT line and let people living in Seletar area and Fernvale Area has a direct bus to the city. Also move service 70 into Fernvale area.

I don't think 70 needed to be move into Fernvale.

Service 63 in the past ever had LAs running. After becoming FAC in June 1998, only aircon SDs were deployed till then.

And now SBS801G is back to service 113 again...

SBS921T remained perm thruout all these while, SBS680M became SP due to 113 got fleet cut.
