Are there any bus ply Hu Ching Rd in the past?Thought saw a SBS bus pass by Jurong Town Pri Sch when i was a kid

I vaguely rmb a NAC scania on 88, also loads of DM3500 like 2754-2757, 2792-2794 appearing, I think 9276 hints the provision of Bndep buses back then, though i didnt trace the status of buses back then.

Anyway, my greatest impression is the premiere joyride on 88: A dry ride on NAC 3773 driven by a helpful (help old pple in boarding etc) but slowpoke BC whose bus crawls on TPE

I have an impression that 9276M was hgdep 25, not original bndep bus.

All under bndep. After 16 amendment, these MK4 DMs were split between bndep & hgdep.

If not then what is the Bus Service which go to the Singapore Zoological Garden in the 19s.??

Service 61 did have route changes before, that was in the 80s.

Initially was between MacPherson Estate and Ulu Pandan, I remember Merc OF1417 Hawkes and Albion Vikings did that route in the past. Ulu Pandan terminal was shut down in 1987 and service 61 was extended to Bt Batok via Clementi Rd and Jln Jurong Kechil. DDs (0305s and LAs) were introduced then.

Somewhere in 1990 service 61's route was further extended to Eunos from MacPherson Estate via Ubi Ave 2 and Jln Eunos. No route change since then.

Minor route changes:

Amended to skip Jln Kolam Ayer and instead ply Geylang Bahru towards Eunos when Kallang Bahru between PIE and Geylang Bahru was converted to one-way.

U-turn at the junction of C'wealth Ave and Queensway when the right turn from C'wealth Dr into Queensway was closed.

In 1990s only the last two services 160 and 181 terminate at the Crawford St terminal. Previously, There was sv 195 and 209 in the past but it was since been withdrawn or amended.

When Crawford St Terminal closed down in 1998, both services 160 and 181 were extended to terminate at Geylang Lor 1 Terminal and was renumbered as 980 and 961 respectively.

I don't think service 195 was at Crawford St terminal.

There's also service 150 to Toa Payoh.

Jalan Kayu Terminal used to house services 163, 70, 103, 379, 378. Were these services under AMDEP? What were the buses they used and the routings?

59 - Bishan to Jln Kayu > Ang Mo Kio to Jln Kayu > Ang Mo Kio to Jln Kayu loop. Extended to Sengkang, became service 866 then service 86.

70 - Jln Kayu to Shenton Way > Yio Chu Kang to Shenton Way (70X - Yio Chu Kang to Lor 1 Geylang > Yio Chu Kang to Marina Centre loop)

103 - Jln Kayu to Buona Vista > Jln Kayu to New Bridge Rd > Serangoon to Seletar East Camp loop (103W: Serangoon to Seletar West Camp loop)

163 - Jln Kayu to World Trade Centre > Jln Kayu to Marina Centre > Jln Kayu to Toa Payoh > Sengkang to Toa Payoh

I don't think service 195 was at Crawford St terminal.

There's also service 150 to Toa Payoh.

Last time used to have South Canal bus terminal. Service 195 used to terminate there as well as old services 55 (South Canal to Mei Chin Rd) and 194 (South Canal to Yong Siak St).

Think the old service 55 was withdrawn somewhere in 1988-1989. When South Canal terminal closed down in 1992 service 194 was withdrawn whereas 195 was extended to Marina Centre.

Service 137: Toa Payoh to Zoo (loop).

Withdrawn in late 1992. Service 163 was amended to terminate at Toa Payoh on the same day to cover for service 137's route between Toa Payoh to Upp Thomson Rd.

Service 171 was then the one and only route to Zoo from Yishun Interchange. In 1994 SBS introduced service 138 from YCK to zoo, 171 was amended to skip Mandai Lake Rd.

Yes all under AMDEP route group.

In the past the 2 feeders were 214E and 214W. When under Tibs control the feeders were renumbered to 820 and 821. Eventually got renumber them again to 378 and 379 when SBS took back control.

Last time 3613 3630 3631 3634 did 88 iirc..

Svc 171 was Sembawang (Mandai Rd) to Queen Street service. Passed by the Singapore Zoo via Mandai Lake Rd on certain timings only.

Later on in the 1980s, Service 171 was extended to Yishun Int

When sv 63 was previously from HGDEP, it has MK3 and MK4 as its perm.. I think there were MK2 cameos if I'm not wrong. One of them was SBS1696L

Haha. I was was in lower primary then. Interestingly I know these city routes more than hometown routes. LOL!

I think it was 2632P. But it didn't last long. I did see 817L, but those MK3s didn't last long on 85.

80 and 85 were under full hgdep. Most of the VOs on 111 were inherited over from hgdep. 9200G 9563J went to 111 because of the ads.
