I would like to ask about the past deployments of service 174 when it was still operating from New Bridge Road to NTI and 143 when it was operating from TPY to Teban Gardens is the past. And is it true that 174 was once under BBDEP??

I think the Mark2s on 174 were under bbdep.

143 was majority amdep until North-west handovers. The original LOs before the B9s came in 9000S, 9010M - 9019P, 9187L, 9196K etc were moved over from bram. 9000S and 9012H moved over only when B10TLs perm 143 in 2007.

9819Y perm brbp 143 from bndep 31, 9012H moved over to slbp 143 to replace 9017U which then came over to amdep as SP. In this round, amdep got extra one bus.

9000S was replaced by 9830M from brbp 31 which received 9120D from arbp 10.

9000S went over to slbp slightly earlier than 9012H. That was when brbp started to add B10TLs to 143 in that period of time.

All along I thought jrdep controlled the JE route group services.

Able to share which of the western depot controlled which services in the 90s?

Some clementi routes like service 96 and feeders 282 284 285 used to be under JE groups with soon chow Merc OF1413s. Remembered seeing them when I was young. Service 92 (Clementi - PLA) was under BB side or HG side if I am not wrong, had perm Merc OF1417s and Albion Vikings.

It was in 1990 when Clementi routes came under BB. Albion Vikings and subsequently Volvo B57s and MK2s were deployed on Clementi short haul services.

I also remembered service 105 under BB group when newly introduced in 1988 - with Albion Viking, Volvo B57 followed by Volvo MK2s. Then came under AM group in 1990 with Merc OF1417 Hawke. LAs was also introduced on service 105 until in 1992 the route was diverted to Lorong Chuan, service 105's fleets became a NAC MB0405 fleet.

I recalled from an old article that I saw in national library, that 154 was once under BBDEP. Not sure what buses it used. And services like 196, 165, 10, 30 and etc which terminated at the old Jurong Int, were under JRBP. Is that true? (have some burning questions to ask since there is a chance)

Yes, there used to be a Jurong interchange in the past. Services 10, 30, 154, 157, 165, 187 (now Tibs/SMRT), 196, 198, 199, feeders and JIS all terminate there. Tibs services 178, 852 and 951 terminate at the Jurong Interchange too. All the SBS services plying along Jurong Interchange should be based under JRBP.

When Boon Lay interchange opened together with the MRT in 1990, most to the Jurong interchange bus services were amended to terminate at Boon Lay interchange. Whereas services 10, 165 and 196 terminate at Clementi instead. Feeder 241 (not the current one) was amended to Jurong East interchange.

198 should be hgdep control, last time had merc 0305 double decks. Later cutback to bt merah, became bbdep control.

64 used to be from macpherson estate, amended to sims ave. Full hgdep all the while.

Teban Garden Terminal is at Jurong Depot at Penjuru Road.

Jurong Bus Park is opposite former Tang Dynasty across AYE. jrbp stayed there after Jurong Interchange move to Boon Lay.

In addition, service 192 also terminated at Jurong interchange. The service plied from the interchange to South Canal terminal, later merged with service 51.

Other services which operated from the interchange include 450 (to Pasir Laba Rd), 98 (to Jurong East interchange), 197 (to Lor 1 Geylang terminal before merging with service 41: Bedok - Bukit Merah).

Service 196 did went to Boon Lay interchange when it opened in July 1990. Service 196 was shortened to terminate at Buona Vista terminal in June 1992 then extended to terminate at Clementi interchange in November 1992.

Think so. Remembered service 157 used to have Volvo MK3s when converted to PAC in 1993, together with the Leyland Alanteans. When handed over to JRBP (now SLBP), the Merc WAs replaced the Volvo MK3s and the LO2x replaced the LAs on service 157.

Service 174 was once full BBDEP too and it was the 1st SBS service to be introduced with NAC Volvo MK2 WAs when new in 1998. Handed over to full JRBP in 1993 and NAC 0405s replaced the MK2s.

I took Sv 157 to my camp every day from 1993 - 1995. No MK III at all. It got SBS381-386 + some other merc... lot of LO2x during that period. 6929/6959/6985/7148/7176 etc etc...i think the BC of former 6959 still drove Sv 157 as of today... Sv 157 was alrd under JRBP that time. It was under BBDEP in the 80s if i am not wrong.

Service 198 was amended to Jurong East interchange when Jurong interchange closed. Became Boon Lay - Bukit Merah in June 1992 when service 64 took over part of its route. With service 198 went over from Jurong East to Boon Lay, service 197 came over from Boon Lay to Jurong East.

105 had full Merc fleet because it was joint AMDEP/JRDEP responsibility, IIRC. Anyway, the Leyland Vikings and Volvo B57s never served on this route, but on its predecessor (95-CLE to PLAB via Holland Rd, Scotts Rd, TPY new town and 93 route to PLAB).

I remember it was around 1990-91 that the Merc fleets were being pulled from CLE and replaced by Leyland Vikings and Volvo B57s. Also interesting to note that 106 (SER-BBT) had B57s too. My impression was that 106 was full AMDEP all along.

198 was JRDEP/HGDEP before being cut short to BMR. It was full JRDEP (LO2X, Merc O405 OAC) later on, then BBDEP took control in 1993 (LA, Volvo B10M Mk III).

You forgot 197. It was amended to JUE along with 241 (later 331). 196 was also BNL, but was shortened to CLE in 1992 to avoid duplicating 198. 165 also terminated in BNL at one stage.

IIRC, 97 ever terminated at Jurong Port as well. When was it changed to JUE?

Adding on, there was also 184 which went to BMR via West Coast Hwy and Telok Blangah Rd. Merged with 176 (BPJ-JUE) to form the current route (BPJ-BMR). 184 had full Leyland Viking fleet.

Service 157 when converted to PAC in Feb 1993 had Volvo MK3s and OAC Merc 0405 DMs for a start. Somewhere in Oct-Nov 1993 all the Volvo MK3s from service 157 were taken out, Merc 0405 WAs were deployed. Not sure whichever depot operated the MK3s.

St Michaels route group was handed over to AMDEP from HGDEP in 1st quarter 1998. Services 74 and 165 went to HGDEP in exchange.

Add on in 2004, Serangoon route group came under HGDEP in exchange for Eunos route group that went to AMDEP/BRBP.

Service 132 was handed over to HGDEP in 1997.
