what for merge?
Yio chu kang is the only terminal which is functioning as a
interchange, with NYP, and the MRT throwing out so many people
every hour.. it helps to divert crowd from AMK
all YCK services serves different areas except 162 and maybe 76
162 provides a direct link to Orchard Road for Ang Mo Kio
residents.
76 is still a useful service for most Ang Mo Kio residents.
This is really one of the worst suggestions.
Yio Chu Kang terminal and Ang Mo Kio interchange serve different
crowds of commuters for different place.
Yio Chu Kang terminal has been there since 1987 serving the
residents in Ang Mo Kio North, then Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2
and after that NYP crowds. It has successfully served as a main
transfer point for many commuters to these areas and helps to
divert crowds away from Ang Mo Kio interchange.
Moreover the new Ang Mo Kio interchange cannot take in all the
services since there is not enough places. And now the interchange
is already crowded enough.
Starting from Ang Mo Kio depot is already a thing from the 1980s
since service 263 (now 268), and there is nothing wrong with
that.
