yup, I noe & what I meant was if the bus were to hit the parts with bollards, I guess the with bollards also useless..

but bollards may help to reduce the impact of damage..

just by reducing the speed of the bus.

You better do not put words in my mouth! I had never mentioned that AMDEP buses will burnt. I had said that amdep had the similar fire incident for twice.

BCs does daily check on all the buses. Does that mean SLBP bus cannot get into any accident? Did I say SLBP will never get into fire? No ones want accident but similar accident should not be happening for another time.

Both are accidents.Similarly to 8074K.. Speculation and comments that does not help in the investigation should not be talked about it here..

sounds more like brakes failure, as it alr hit 3 cars bef hitting the bus stop. Probably the BC panic then hit the bus stop instead of heading straight for it to slow down create less impact.

Its a brake failure as confirmed by some pax and the driver. The driver tried many times but the bus just won't stop.

But it could be that due to the fast speed, it might have hit more cars if it goes straight.

Anyway, today:

TIB481C (AMDEP 961) brokedown at Queensway bus stop at around 5 plus today while doing 961. Tyre burst was the cause of the incident. Bus totally tilted to the right & SMRT small maintenance truck came to attend it. Many pieces of rubber from the wheel were strewn all over the floor.

No wonder I saw it at Marymount, heading to AMDEP at about 6pm.... Not towed, but a new trye.

I think the BC drove fast and when it was turning into the bus bay, it accidentally never notice the bus stop roof and hit it.

looks like bus stop was used to stop the runaway bus. which is a good structure to use looking at that location.

want to use the water barriers wont stop one lor.

Updates: Was raining when I was coming home about 4.30. Roof collapsed, a crane was supporting it so that it didn't hit the ground. Just now at about 9.30, the roof was removed already. I think they are might-as-well-ing put in the new bus stop immediately.

but LECIP got make EDS designed for those in single deck buses?

i think the current LECIP ones are so small they seem fit for single-deck buses more (like Malaysian Lance)...
