A King Long XMQ6119KCNG (rego: PA9290A) bus caught fire just
outside the Christian Columbarium (The Garden Of Remembrance along
Old Choa Chu Kang Road yesterday morning at 7.25am. The interior of
the bus was completely burnt. All that remained of the bus were the
front and the badly burnt frame.
The bus driver, Mr Chan, suffered 40% burns and is now fighting
for his life in hospital. He had just dropped off passengers along
Old CCK Road when the rear of the bus caught fire and bursts into
flames. Mr Chan suffered burns while trying to put out the fire
himself.
The bus was running on CNG.
